A Review of Isolation Gowns in Health care: Fabric and Gown Properties
In the United States, more than 18 million people work in the healthcare field. There is an increasing concern among healthcare workers over exposure to microorganisms that are commonly carried through blood, body fluids, and other potentially infectious materials such as, Ebola hemorrhagic fever, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and Human Immunodeficiency Virus. All four previously-mentioned pathogens can be acquired via contact of contaminated body fluids with non-intact skin or mucous membranes. Isolation techniques have conventionally been used to minimize the spread of infections by controlling or eliminating infectious agents and reservoirs, interrupting the transmission cycle, and protecting susceptible patients. U.S. hospitals established conventional isolation procedures at the turn of the last century. It is well-documented that healthcare workers are at risk to acquire infections during patient-care activities . Because of these risks, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration mandated the use of universal precautions during treatment of all patients in 1991 to minimize healthcare workers’ risks of acquiring blood borne pathogens. This rule requires that healthcare workers wear personal protective equipment and employers to provide healthcare workers with appropriate PPE, such as gowns, laboratory coats, eye protection, masks, face shields, and gloves. PPE is a critical component of isolation precautions and used widely in healthcare facilities as part of the strategy to minimize passage of microbes to patients and exposure of healthcare workers and visitors to infectious agents, especially blood borne pathogens. The rule mandates that blood etc must not reach the employee’s work clothes or street clothes, undergarments, skin, eyes, mouth, or other mucous membranes. According to the rule, the required PPE type depends on the condition, type, duration, and the amount of exposure.
Our happy life in company
Not only a hiking day, but also a physical challenges
In order to make our team more energetic and positive, every month our team will have different kinds of group activity. This week, we decided to have a big challenge, we went to the Mulan Mountain scenic zone and spent a really unforgetable time in there.
In our ordinary life, we spent most of our time nonwoven products.
The hiking time really give us a chance to have deep breath in the fresh air and see something green and feshable. Hiking is a elbow grease activity, it makes us start to pay attention to care about our body and health.
Hope we could help more activities like this, not only enjoy ourselves in the work, but also enjoy ourselves in our life.
